- Main job responsibilities
The main task of a harness engineer in an OEM host factory is to complete the development of a harness system according to the project plan. Specifically, it is a process of identifying/clarifying design requirements ->design and development ->product validation. The main job responsibilities include:
1. Decompose the configuration table at the beginning of the project, clarify the requirements, specify the wiring harness development plan, describe the wiring harness technology, and sign relevant technical agreements
2. Vehicle principle design, including confirmation of component unit principles and collection of relevant interface definitions
3. Three dimensional layout design and 2D drawing design of wire harness
4. Production of DV and PV test outlines related to wiring harnesses, preparation and maintenance of DFMEA for wiring harnesses, etc
5. Follow up and control of wire harness samples after product freezing
6. Design confirmation and design change work during the development process of wire harness products. Including the verification of the three-dimensional layout design of the wiring harness during loading, testing of the electrical functions of the entire vehicle, verification of the overall principle design during vehicle fault maintenance, and quality control of components and parts
7. Tests related to the wiring harness system, including DV and PV tests
8. After the development verification is completed, issue relevant OTS approval agreements, PPAP agreements, etc
9. Other related work on the wiring harness system during the development process, etc
1. Professional level ability in wire harness design, which can be improved in Part 6 of this article;
2. The ability to identify and solve problems. In the early stages of developing these abilities, conscious efforts can be made to cultivate them and analyze them using relevant tools such as 5W2H problem analysis, fishbone diagram analysis, Ford G8D work method, PDCA, etc;
3. Ability to integrate resources. For wiring harness engineers in the host factory, they should be good at utilizing the resources of the host factory, such as supplier resources and design company resources, to help themselves complete their work;
4. Handling interpersonal relationships and being a good person beforehand. Work is also a part of social activity, and its essence lies in the generation of activities between people.
5. Have an optimistic work attitude and avoid impatience. The work of wire harness design is fragmented and chaotic, and it is necessary to allocate personal energy reasonably and take the initiative.
